2024: My Year of Personal Growth — From Inner Conflict to Clarity
The most profound transformations are the ones that happen within, and this year has been one of the most significant for my personal growth.
Two years ago, when I embarked on my mission to share my spiritual insights and experiences through meditation coaching, I had no idea just how much time, energy, and financial investment it would require. I had a strong desire to help others break free from their limited mindsets through mindfulness. However, I often found myself facing challenges that kept me stuck from fully stepping into my purpose.
I realized my challenges stemmed from my inner conflict, limiting beliefs, and fears:
- Limiting Beliefs Around Monetizing Spirituality: I struggled with the belief that meditation coaching couldn’t be a legitimate profession. I thought spirituality should be shared freely, and charging for my time and wisdom felt wrong. This belief prevented me from treating my coaching practice as a business, which led to burnout. I found myself investing hours into helping others, only to see them not implement the guidance I provided.
- Fear of Depleting My Energy: The lack of energetic exchange left me feeling drained, frustrated, and unappreciated, as others often took my time for granted. Without balancing giving with receiving, I neglected my own needs and struggled to set boundaries. This created a disconnect between my passion for helping others and the fear of burnout, making it difficult to serve both myself and those who needed my support.
- Fear of Investing Personal Savings into My Passions: Another fear I faced was investing my personal savings into tools and resources for my passion. At the time, I was barely making any money from my sessions, and the costs of these resources far exceeded the income I generated. I hesitated to use my family’s savings, thinking it would be unfair to invest personal funds in building my passion, as if I were doing an injustice to my family. I worried this money could be better used for my children’s college savings or other needs.
- Fear of Success and Balancing Two Worlds: Well-meaning friends often advised me that I couldn’t keep “one foot in two boats.” They said, “If you really want to build a coaching business, you have to fully commit to it and let go of your corporate career.” This advice, though given with good intentions, only fueled my inner turmoil. I loved my corporate job — the challenges, the growth, the opportunity to solve complex problems. The idea of walking away from it felt impossible, especially since I had no clear path forward in coaching.
Dismantling My Limiting Beliefs and Fears
This year, something shifted internally as I became mindful of my inner conflict that had been holding me back. I worked like a ninja to confront these fears head on and took deliberate steps to challenge them. Here’s how I navigated through them:
- Reframed Monetizing My Passion: I redefined what it meant to charge for my time and wisdom. I reflected on how a dentist must undergo years of training and education, and I realized that my years of study and research in spirituality held similar value. Charging for my skills wasn’t wrong; it was an essential part of honoring my time and expertise. By doing so, I empowered my clients to take my guidance seriously, leading them to commit fully to the coaching process and experience deeper transformations.
- Embraced the Concept of Energy Exchange: I realized that energy exchange goes beyond money; it’s about finding a harmonious balance between giving and receiving. By setting clear boundaries and prioritizing my own needs, I created a sustainable approach to serving others that didn’t drain me. This shift empowered me to show up as my most authentic, fully present self for my clients, no longer stressing over how much time they were taking. Instead, I began focusing solely on the value I was offering in the moment, creating deeper connections and more meaningful transformations.
- Invested in Passion: I realized that over the years, I had been investing in my personal and spiritual growth by attending retreats, conferences, and workshops, so why should investing in tools be any different? I overcame my fear of using personal savings by reframing it as an investment in both my growth and the future of my entrepreneurial journey. I shifted my perspective to see these resources as essential stepping stones for long-term success, rather than simply viewing them as costs.
- Embraced Success in Both Worlds: I rejected the notion that I had to choose between my corporate career and my meditation coaching practice. After watching an inspiring interview with Elon Musk, I questioned myself: If he can run five companies simultaneously, why can’t I balance both my coaching practice and my corporate career? I now believe I can thrive in both areas, bringing balance and fulfillment to my life while pursuing both passions.
Other Realizations
- Reframed Time and Balance: For so long, I believed that dedicating myself to one thing meant I wouldn’t have time for the other. The truth was, “I don’t have time” was just another limiting belief. With this shift in mindset after watching Elon Musk interview, I told myself, “I have all the time in the world for the things I care about.” This reframe has been transformative. With better time management, focus, and prioritization, I discovered how much I could accomplish without sacrificing either path.
- Health is the Foundation for Success: On the days I skipped workouts or lived in a cluttered space, my productivity suffered. But on the days I woke up early, meditated, exercised, and cleaned my environment, I felt unstoppable. I started journaling each night to declutter my mind and process my emotions. I realized that prioritizing my physical, mental, and emotional well-being isn’t an option anymore— it’s the prerequisite for thriving in both my personal and professional life.
- Letting Go of Control: I discovered how much I tried to control every aspect of my solopreneur journey, which left me feeling overwhelmed and exhausted. This year, I made the conscious decision to ask for help. I worked with a coach, a website developer, and a personal assistant, and their support has expanded my capacity to grow and serve others. Letting go of control has been an ongoing learning process, but I now understand that collaboration doesn’t limit my growth — it fuels it.
- Built a Community Through Contribution: I realized that building a thriving community means allowing others to contribute. Offering volunteer opportunities for community events was a game-changer, as it invited others to support and enrich the mission in ways I never anticipated. Embracing this collaborative spirit has brought more energy, ideas, and impact to my work, and I’m grateful for the connections it has created.
Looking Ahead
2024 has been a year of deep introspection and transformative shifts. I’ve learned to embrace both my career and passion without guilt, to prioritize my health, and to trust in the power of collaboration. I am more confident than ever in my path forward, and I can’t wait to see what’s next. As I continue to serve others through meditation coaching, I’m doing so from a place of balance and clarity. This journey of personal growth is far from over, but I’m finally stepping into my full potential — and it feels incredibly freeing.
Here’s to courage, growth, and the magic of endless possibilities in 2025 — Happy New Year!!
